Description:

This collection of the timeless teachings of one of the greatest sages of India, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, regarded by many as a "modern spiritual classic" is a testament to the uniqueness of the seer's life and work

"I Am That" preserves Maharaj's dialogues with the followers who came from around the world seeking his guidance in destroying false identities. The sage's sole concern was with human suffering and the ending of suffering. It was his mission to guide the individual to an understanding of his true nature and the timelessness of being. He taught that mind must recognize and penetrate its own state of being, "being this or that, here or that, then or now," but just timeless being.

5Currently on backorder. :)  Jul 13, 2010
I read this book years ago and it is fabulous to say the least. It explains, indirectly, filling that empty space within with your own Truth, not someone else's.... It also explains Genuine Self Love, something most of us were not taught while growing up. I've purchased the book for my brother. Every individual will receive their own personal weight in 'Gold' after reading this book. It speaks to all. It's worth the wait. :)

5I am that  Jul 04, 2010
I spent most of my teenager years visiting Indian Ashrams and learning meditation technics. Also read probably hundreds of books on eastern philosophy, etc. On one of my trips to India a friend recommended me this book. Even though I love a lot of what the book said, I felt I was not ready and put the book aside after only reading 1/20 of it.

It is only 15 years later that I managed to find this book again on Amazon. This time I was more prepare and things resonated in a way never imagened. I can truly say my search is over. Never again had I look or read another spiritual book.

Interestingly, it is during certain times that I can really read and comprenhend what this book is telling me. For me without this "special state of mind", words are empty and get bored after a short time of reading. So many times I tried to open this treasure without success. Yet, there are a few special times when words in this book serve me as a tunnel to see and understand THAT. It simply cracked me open.

This book is not for everybody, but if you are in serious search for who you really are, I recommend reading it. If after reasing you can not get it, do not worry, leave it on the side for a few years or decades; but go back to it. Eventually the treassure will be reveled and you will never again have to look for another book.

5Finest Spiritual Book on the Market  Jun 26, 2010
Without a doubt, one of the finest spiritual books I have ever read. In over 500 pages of dialogue between an enlightened master and people from every walk of life, Nisargadatta expounds on how to become One with the Unmanifest Source of Being.

5Where the search stops  May 24, 2010
This is book is special. Of all spiritual books this is the one book that everyone can connect to. I have seen this with all the people I have recommended it to.

Though Maharaj's message is very simple it is giant leap to actually start on the process of awakening. When you clearly realize that "I AM" and stay with it.....no other words, teachings, gurus, practices are needed.

5A jewel in the crown  Feb 10, 2010
This book is the jewel of all philosophical books that I have read. This book cannot or should not be read but should be studied very carefully. Nisarga Datta Maharaj's answers are splendit and mind boggling. Very high order of spiritual content. Worth possessing one.
