Medicine Buddha or Amitabha is the Buddha of infinite light. Oldest of the celestial Buddhas of Mahayana Buddhism, he is said to have earned his place through karmic effort. Depicted here in Dhyana Mudra holding a begging bowl with ambrosia. It is believed that meditating with medicine Buddha creates therapeutic energy. The Amitabha statue measures 10 inches high and 8.5 inches wide. The statue is made of cold-cast bronze.
