The hand here is in the blessing mudra with the palm of the right hand facing outward to give a blessing or dispel fear. This hand position is known as abhaya mudra. In the hand is a Vajra. Dorje or Vajra in the original Sanskrit translates both as "adamantine" and "thunderbolt". This is one of the ritual objects of Tibetan Buddhism and is a symbol of compassion, the most powerful energy in the universe. By wearing this symbol, one can constantly remind themselves of their active commitment to compassion with whatever is occurring outside.Handmade: Minor variations in size, shape and finish may be present, making each piece a unique work of art.
