We all come from the same roots, so are we not all of the same flock and feather?
Made by fair trade artists, this beautiful wall hanging was fashioned in the tradition of Haitian metal art and handicraft. Using discarded steel drums, artisans from Croix-de-Bouquets cut and hammer each piece by hand. This design features the Tree of Life-a symbol of interconnectedness-housing a flock of birds. The Tree of life, with its sturdy trunk, shows that we all share the same origins, no matter the color of our plumage! This is a wonderful piece to celebrate Haiti’s artistic legacy. Measures 24 x 24 inches. Suitable for both indoors and outdoors. See below for care.

Care: Each piece is finished but prolonged exposure to the outdoors will erode the gloss and cause eventual rusting. To deter corrosion, coat with WD-40 penetrating oil once a year. For indoor care, scratches can be treated with a light spray of clear varnish. Rusted surfaces can be treated with fine sandpaper and then finished with a clear enamel. This piece is fashioned by hand from recycled materials. Each piece will contain its own unique variations in color, surface appearance, and overall design. Such details speak to the handmade qualities of the item’s construction and make each piece one of a kind.
