Buddhist Ritual Items

Spiritual tools are practical items that help us discover and nurture inner peace. They have been used for hundreds of years to enhance meditation rituals, prayer and personal reflection time. Today their relevance is stronger than ever – in our over-scheduled lives, a few minutes of peaceful practice can strengthen our spiritual identity and improve our health of mind.

Mala Beads

Mala beads, or rosaries, are used during meditation as a way to balance the mind. Malas usually contain 108 beads, a number of great spiritual significance in many traditions. Malas are often used when chanting mantras, although they can also be used in silence for tranquility.

Singing Bowls

Singing bowls fill the air with harmonic vibrations, adding depth and dimension to any personal prayer or meditative activity. Singing bowls are made of various metal types and sizes for unique tonal qualities. Their sound is incredibly pacifying, making them ideal for signaling the start or close of meditation time.

Prayer Wheels

Prayer wheels are Buddhist ritual items used to keep a calm mind during spiritual exercises. Spinning the wheel is  believed to evoke blessings for others while developing compassion and wisdom for oneself. Prayer wheels  typically carry the sacred “Om Mani Padme Hum” mantra, an essential component of Tibetan spirituality.

Incense burning is an ancient spiritual ritual seen in many different cultures. Incense symbolizes the need to burn away excess negative qualities to reveal the pure self within. The aroma purifies the atmosphere as the fragrance spreads  throughout our surroundings, just like positive actions in our lives.
