Iron kettles, or tetsubin, were originally used in Japanese homes to boil water. During the mid-19th century, tea drinking became more popular and tetsubin evolved from being regular kitchen items to status symbols used for serving and pouring tea. The region of Iwate in northern Japan is the most famous for crafting tetsubin.

This premium black iron teapot is wonderful example of that cultural and artistic tradition. Crafted with an exquisite honeycomb pattern, pot is fixed with a handle and comes with a detachable diffuser. With spout, pot is 6 inches wide, 5.5 inches high, and 5 inches deep. Please note, this item is for serving and pouring and is not intended for placing on a hot stove.
