Seated Buddha statue cast in polystone with a cream stone finish, right hand lowered in the earth-touching (bhumisparsha) mudra above an open lotus base. Meaning & Intention

The earth-touching mudra, or bhumisparsha, marks a turning point beneath the Bodhi tree. Facing the temptations of Mara, Buddha lowered his right hand to call the earth as witness to his resolve.

Where many meditative postures point inward, this one points down. The open left hand in the lap stays receptive, while the lowered right hand plants intention in the physical world.

The lotus base tells the same story from another angle: a flower that rises clean out of muddy water, unbothered by where it began.

Together they suggest a practice rooted in daily life — steady, unhurried, and sure of its own ground.
