Square canvas of an otter floating on its back in blue water, paws up and mouth open mid-laugh, with Stay Playful lettered above the splash. It is hard to look at and stay serious, which is the point. Hang it in a bathroom, a child's room, or over a desk that gets too much of your frown.

Details

Design: Watercolor sea otter on its back in rippling blue water, droplets scattered across the white ground, with Stay Playful in thin gray capitals at the top left
Size: 12" x 12" square
Material: Printed canvas stretched over a wood frame, gallery-wrapped edges, ready to hang
Care: Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight and high humidity
Origin: Made in the USA

Meaning & Intention

The otter is one of the few animals that plays as an adult. It slides down banks, juggles stones, and floats holding hands with its own kind so no one drifts off.

Play is not the opposite of seriousness. It is how curiosity stays alive after childhood.

Stay Playful is a small instruction with a long reach: keep a little joy in the day on purpose, even when the day is not asking for it.

Essence & Elements

Intention: Joy, lightness, play

Symbol: Otter at play

Ideal for: A bathroom, a playroom, or a grown-up who works too hard

Suggested mantra: I stay playful

Questions & Guidance

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. The canvas is stretched over a wood frame with wrapped edges, so it hangs flush on a single nail or hook with nothing extra to buy.

Is this a painting or a print?

A print. The watercolor artwork is printed onto canvas and stretched over a wood frame, so the weave of the canvas shows through the image and every piece in the series matches.

Is it suitable for a child's room?

Yes. The soft watercolor style and short phrase suit a nursery or playroom as well as a grown-up space.

Can I group it with the other animal prints?

Yes. The series shares the same size, white ground, and lettering, so two or three hang together as a set.

Can it hang outdoors or in a sunny spot?

Indoors only. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from damp rooms such as bathrooms with poor ventilation. Strong sun fades printed color over time, and humidity can slacken the canvas.

Too big

The boxes were much bigger than I thought they would be and seemed to be lacking in the quality I'm used to seeing in your products. I have returned both boxes via UPS and am awaiting my refund.

Understated design, well made

I wanted a simple reminder to take a moment to breathe throughout the day. This ring tells me to do just that. It's solid stainless steel, so it's durable. The embossing (engraving?) is clear and consistent from one letter to the next.
