Malas for a seated practice. Strands of 108 knotted beads in walnut, ebony, and mixed wood, and in gemstones like moonstone, amethyst, rose quartz, aventurine, and lapis. Seven-chakra malas, heart chakra malas, and yin yang designs sit alongside quieter single-stone strands.

For anyone who counts breath, mantra, or intention. Pair a mala with a wood, marble, or mother of pearl inlay box to keep it close between sittings. Also here: one bracelet and a few gift tins.

About Meditation Mala Beads

What these are

Malas made for a seated practice: strands of 108 knotted beads used to count breath, mantra, or a single word held in mind. This collection gathers 40 pieces from about $20 to $108, mostly prayer bead strands with a smaller shelf of gift boxes, jewelry boxes, and one beaded bracelet for the wrist.

The beads come in wood and seed — sandalwood, rosewood, rudraksha, lotus seed — and in gemstone strands of moonstone, amethyst, rose quartz, green aventurine, lapis lazuli, carnelian, citrine, fluorite, labradorite, and turquoise. Some pieces mix materials, with rose quartz or rhodonite counter beads on rosewood, coral and turquoise inlays on wood, or fifteen stones combined on a seven-chakra strand. Metals appear as small accents in sterling silver, stainless steel, and alloy.

How to choose

Start with the intention you want the strand to hold. Sandalwood, rudraksha, lotus seed, and darker woods are traditionally chosen for grounded, quiet sitting. Moonstone and labradorite are associated with intuition; rose quartz and rhodonite with love and self-love; amethyst and lapis with inner peace and wisdom; citrine and carnelian with joy; aventurine with balance. A seven-chakra mala is a good choice when no single theme feels right.

How to use it

Hold the mala in one hand, rest a finger on the bead beside the guru, and move one bead at a time with each breath or repetition of your mantra. Knotted spacing gives the thumb a steady rhythm. When not in use, many people keep a mala on the altar, coiled in a bowl, or worn loosely around the neck or wrist.

Care

Keep wood and seed strands dry, and wipe gemstone beads with a soft cloth.

Are these malas one size?

The 108-bead strands are made to loop over the head and can also wrap around the wrist several times, so they suit most adults. The single beaded bracelet in the collection sits on the wrist on its own.

Which mala works for a gift when I don't know the person's practice?

Sandalwood, rudraksha, or lotus seed strands stay universal and read as calm rather than specific. A seven-chakra mala with fifteen gemstones covers a wide range of intentions. Several designs also arrive in a gift box or jewelry box.

Can I set an intention with the mala?

Yes. Choose a word — peace, balance, joy, wisdom — and repeat it silently as you move from bead to bead, one bead per breath, until you return to the guru bead. The knotted spacing helps keep a steady rhythm.
