Square canvas of a humpback whale rising from blue water, one fin lifted and spray breaking around it, with Breathe Deeply lettered above. Whales surface for exactly this reason, and so should we. Hang it in a bathroom, a bedroom, or a workspace where the breath tends to go shallow.

Details

Design: Watercolor humpback whale breaching through rippling blue water, fin raised and belly pale, with Breathe Deeply in thin gray capitals at the top left
Size: 12" x 12" square
Material: Printed canvas stretched over a wood frame, gallery-wrapped edges, ready to hang
Care: Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight and high humidity
Origin: Made in the USA

Meaning & Intention

The whale is an old symbol of depth, memory, and the unconscious, the largest living thing moving through the part of the world we cannot see.

It also breathes on purpose. A whale must choose each breath and rise to take it, which makes it a natural emblem for conscious breathing.

Breathe Deeply is the simplest practice there is. Rise, take the breath all the way in, and go back under a little calmer.

Essence & Elements

Intention: Calm, depth, breath

Symbol: Breaching whale

Ideal for: A bathroom, a bedroom, or a desk where the breath gets shallow

Suggested mantra: I breathe deeply

Questions & Guidance

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. The canvas is stretched over a wood frame with wrapped edges, so it hangs flush on a single nail or hook with nothing extra to buy.

Is this a painting or a print?

A print. The watercolor artwork is printed onto canvas and stretched over a wood frame, so the weave of the canvas shows through the image and every piece in the series matches.

Is it suitable for a child's room?

Yes. The soft watercolor style and short phrase suit a nursery or playroom as well as a grown-up space.

Can I group it with the other animal prints?

Yes. The series shares the same size, white ground, and lettering, so two or three hang together as a set.

Can it hang outdoors or in a sunny spot?

Indoors only. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from damp rooms such as bathrooms with poor ventilation. Strong sun fades printed color over time, and humidity can slacken the canvas.

Too big

The boxes were much bigger than I thought they would be and seemed to be lacking in the quality I'm used to seeing in your products. I have returned both boxes via UPS and am awaiting my refund.

Understated design, well made

I wanted a simple reminder to take a moment to breathe throughout the day. This ring tells me to do just that. It's solid stainless steel, so it's durable. The embossing (engraving?) is clear and consistent from one letter to the next.
