Meaning & Intention

Om Mani Padme Hum is the most widely recited mantra in Tibetan Buddhism, chanted on malas and carved into prayer wheels across the Himalayas. Each of its six syllables is traditionally linked to a quality cultivated on the path to enlightenment, from generosity to patience to wisdom.

Here the phrase is broken across separate discs, so each one holds a single syllable rather than the mantra whole. Turning the wrist becomes akin to rolling mala beads through the fingers, letting the recitation circulate through ordinary hours.

Love this and the meaning behind it. Unfortunately it’s huge on my wrist and I can’t wear it so it’s become an ornament next to where I meditate. It’s got a string to pull to tighten it but even at the tightest, it’s still big and since it’s rather stiff due to the design it’s more of a large bangle bracelet fit which I don’t care for. Would be amazing for someone with a larger wrist though.
