A softbound journal with a bamboo-print leatherette cover, printed with the eleven-circuit Chartres labyrinth beneath the words "Be Here Now" in flowing script. Inside are lined pages for reflection; outside, a labyrinth to trace with a fingertip or the back of a pen. Kept on a nightstand or desk, it pairs two meditative practices in one object.

Meaning & Intention

The labyrinth on the cover is modeled after the design set into the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France, one of the oldest surviving walking meditations still in daily use.

Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has no dead ends or tricks. A single path winds inward to the center and back out again, a physical metaphor for a journey that always leads somewhere.

Tracing its path with a fingertip or the back of a pen is a practice older than the page itself. Pilgrims once walked labyrinths in place of long journeys to sacred sites, using the winding walk to turn attention inward.

"Be Here Now" above the labyrinth names the whole exercise plainly. Both tracing and writing are ways of returning attention to the present, one line and one loop at a time.

Questions & Guidance

How do I use the labyrinth for meditation?

Trace its path with your finger or the back of a pen, following the twists and turns inward to the center and back out. Let your attention settle as you go, then open the journal and write.

Is this a maze?

No. A labyrinth has one continuous path with no dead ends. You cannot get lost in it, which is part of what makes tracing it a calming practice rather than a puzzle.

How might I build it into a daily practice?

Try a few minutes before sleep or after waking. Trace the labyrinth once to settle the mind, then let whatever thought remains spill onto the lined pages that follow.

Would it work as a gift?

Yes. It suits someone starting a journaling or meditation habit, or a reflective friend who might appreciate a small daily ritual paired with a place to write.

Great gift

Handsome “wood grained” cover and small labyrinth make this a unique journal and great gift. Pages are wide lined which I don’t prefer, but it is a quality book.

Journal be here now Love the cover made a cork and the symbol on the front that I can do a focus tracing inside the pages are strong with good lines far enough apart
