One hundred and eight garnet beads, individually hand-knotted along a fuchsia cotton cord and finished with a full tassel below the guru bead. Garnet is associated with the root chakra — grounding, vitality, and a steady sense of belonging in the body. Move through the strand bead by bead with your thumb, pausing at the guru to mark a full cycle of mantra or breath.

Details
  • Design: A traditional 108-bead mala of deep wine-red garnet, each bead individually hand-knotted along a fuchsia cotton cord and finished with a full fuchsia tassel below the guru bead
  • Size: 6 mm beads; 108 beads plus 1 guru bead, standard mala length for wrapping or hand-held use
  • Material: Natural garnet gemstone beads, fuchsia cotton knotting cord and tassel
  • Care: Keep away from water, perfumes, and harsh chemicals. Store in a soft pouch when not in use
  • Note: Made for meditation use, not recommended as an everyday jewelry item. Garnet is a natural stone, so each bead has subtle variations in tone and pattern, making every mala one of a kind
Meaning & Intention

Garnet has been regarded since ancient times as a stone of vital energy, its deep blood-red color long thought to hold the life force itself. It is traditionally linked to the root chakra and associated with grounding, safety, and presence in the body.

Strung as 108 beads — a number held sacred across Hindu and Buddhist traditions — the mala becomes a counting tool for mantra and breath, marking the rhythm of practice rather than rushing toward its end.

The single guru bead at the base of the strand marks the completion of one full cycle, a point of pause and gratitude before beginning again.

Held in seated meditation or kept nearby, the mala offers a tactile anchor for a steady return to stillness.

Questions & Guidance

Can I wear this as a necklace?

This mala is made for meditation practice rather than everyday wear. The delicate knotting and full mala length make it best suited to seated use or being kept nearby during your practice.

How do I use a mala for meditation?

Hold it in one hand and move through the beads one at a time with your thumb, repeating a mantra or breath count on each. Start and end at the guru bead to mark a full cycle.

Let Down

I received my Mala a little over a week ago. I thought this would hold up to daily meditation. The Male broke at the red not at the first bead. This was not a cheap Mala and was a bit let down. I would hope someone would reach out to me to exchange for a new one.
